Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Detectives investigated an early morning homicide in a parking lot at 2nd Avenue and Division Street. Suspect has been located and taken into custody.
On October 23rd, 2018, just after 2:30am, a man died in the parking lot of 177 S. Division Street. Officers were in the area on an unrelated call and became aware of a large group gathered in the lot and a possible fight.
Officers were on scene within minutes to find the group had scattered and a male appeared to have been stabbed. Officers performed CPR and requested medics. The male died at the scene.
Major Crimes Detectives investigated the incident. Witnesses were interviewed and area surveillance video was collected to identify a suspect. Andre A. Conway (29) was determined to be the suspect. He was located near Sprague Avenue and Browne Street around 12:30pm by patrol officers.
Conway was taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Murder 1st Degree. Conway will have a first appearance in court tomorrow.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office assisted the investigation with their 3D digital scan and aerial drone recording of the crime scene.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office once they have completed their examination and once next of kin has been notified.
