3900 N Market Fatal Vehicle vs Pedestrians Update

Spokane Police investigate automobile collision with three pedestrians.  One victim dies from the injuries.

On October 8th, 2017, around 7:30 a.m., a vehicle driven by Brittney N. Moen (24) struck three pedestrians on the sidewalk in the area of 3900 N. Market.  One victim died from the injuries.  Moen was arrested and booked into jail.

Sunday morning, October 8th, SPD officers responded to an automobile/pedestrian collision in the shopping center near 3900 N. Market.  Three people on the sidewalk were struck by the vehicle Moen drove.

All three victims received injuries.  They were all transported to an area hospital. Two victims suffered life threatening injuries and one died as a result of the collision.  A third victim received non-life threatening injuries.

Moen was arrested and booked into jail for one count of Vehicular Homicide and two counts of Vehicle Assault.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Traffic Unit responded and assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the deceased and cause of death will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

SPD would like to thank the off duty Spokane Fire Department employee who was shopping in the area and assisted the victims.
