On August 10, 2019 Officers responded to the Corbin park neighborhood for an occupied burglary call. A mother was at home with her child when they heard a knock at the door. A short time later the mother and child came face to face with 37 year old Stephen R Brown inside of her home. The woman yelled that she was calling the Police and Brown fled out of the house. The victim looked around her home and discovered that Brown had pried a screen off of a window and then climbed in through the open window. She was able to give a good description of the suspect to Police.

Officers arrived on scene and set a perimeter in the area for a K-9 track. As Officer Morley was arriving he noticed a male (Brown) just south of Corbin Park. When Officer Morley attempted to contact Brown, he took off running. He was caught a short distance later and taken into custody. After the investigation it was determined that Brown was the person who broke into the residence. Brown had an active felony warrant for his arrest for Burglary and was also in possession of Methamphetamine. He was booked into jail for those charges and a new charge of Residential Burglary.

Brown’s convictions only consist of Possession of a controlled substance (X3), Possession of stolen property 2nd degree, Residential Burglary, Theft of motor vehicle, Theft 3rd degree (X2), Vehicle prowling 2nd degree, Hit and run and being in physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
