Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force and Partners Take Down Drug-Trafficking Criminal EnterpriseĀ 

 

More than 100 federal, state, and local law enforcement agents coordinated arrest and search operations this week at approximately 15 locations throughout Spokane and Yakima, Washington, and in Idaho.Ā  Todayā€™s operations led to the successful and safe arrests of 18, of the 22, subjects implicated in an alleged significant drug-trafficking enterprise. The subjects will face an array of charges in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine. The arrests are the culmination of a two-year investigation by the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force.

 

Investigators in Spokane, Washington; Yakima, Washington; and Post Falls, Idaho searched locations believed to contain evidence of the criminal activity of this enterprise and made numerous arrests.

The charges contained in the federal indictments and complaints are only allegations. A person is presumed innocent unless and until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The case is being investigated by the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Forceā€”composed of the FBI, Spokane Police Department, Spokane County Sheriffā€™s Office, and Spokane Valley Police Departmentā€”and other law enforcement agencies, including the Washington State Patrol, United States Border Patrol, the Washington State Department of Corrections, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The United States Marshals Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration were also integrally involved in this enforcement action. Todayā€™s operations in Idaho were carried out by the FBIā€™s North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force.
