Last night, October 21st, 2015, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Spokane Valley and Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Sullivan Road at Kiernan in Spokane Valley.

Witnesses stated a 1997 Cadillac sedan was traveling south on Sullivan Road approaching a green light at Kiernan.  The Cadillac, driven by an adult female with two juvenile passengers, passed through the intersection, drifted across the center median, and struck three vehicles stopped at the red light in the northbound lanes.

Responding fire personnel had to extricate one of the victim drivers from her vehicle.  She was transported to a local hospital for serious, but nonlife threatening, injuries.

The driver of the Cadillac was transported for her injuries which were not life threatening.  Her children received minor injuries and accompanied her to the hospital.  She told deputies she suffers from seizures and had one prior to the collision but didn’t remember what actually happened.  She informed Deputies her driver’s license was suspended, which was confirmed.

Collision Reconstructionists were called to the scene and continue to investigate this serious collision.  Probable cause was developed for a search warrant to obtain the Cadillac driver’s blood for testing but it has not yet been determined if impairment was involved.
