One Vehicle Fatal Crash on South Assembly Road
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigators were called to the scene of a one vehicle crash early this morning. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On November 23, 2018, at approximately 7:28 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of S. Assembly Rd. and W. Tamarack Rd. for the report of a vehicle traveling south on Assembly, left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Deputies and Spokane County Fire personnel arrived at the scene. The adult female driver was provided immediate medical attention but unfortunately, was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators responded to continue the investigation.
It has not been determined what caused this fatal crash but a witness at the scene stated the vehicle appeared to be speeding before it left the roadway and collided with the tree.
Investigators found the driver was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
SIRT Team volunteers responded to assist with traffic control during the investigation.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the driver at a later time, when appropriate to do so.
