The Spokane Investigative Regional Response (SIRR) Team continues to investigate the officer-involved shooting incident that occurred September 18th, in the City of Spokane.  The suspect who was shot, 25 year old Antonio Davis, was treated and released from the hospital and booked into the Spokane County Jail for attempting to elude, unlawful possession of firearm as well as being an outstanding fugitive from Reno, Nevada.

Additionally, 29 year old Jake Torlone, was booked into the Spokane County Jail yesterday as being an outstanding fugitive from Reno, Nevada.  Torlone has been identified as a passenger in the vehicle who fled on foot during Monday’s incident.  All other occupants of the vehicle have been identified and contacted by law enforcement.

SIRR detectives executed a search warrant on the vehicle Davis was driving and processed a handgun and ammunition that was located inside.  Investigators also located another handgun outside of a residence near the scene of the shooting.  All of these items have been submitted for forensic analysis.

SIRR investigators are continuing their work to follow up on additional investigative leads as well as to interview the officer who discharged his firearm during this incident.

The incident occurred on September 18, 2017, just after 2:30 am, when Spokane Police Department (SPD) Patrol Officers spotted a vehicle known to be driven by Davis who was wanted out of Reno, Nevada.  SPD officers had received an Intelligence Bulletin/Officer Safety Notification on August 30, 2017 advising Davis may be staying/frequenting the Spokane area and was a suspect in a homicide in Reno, Nevada.  The bulletin stated that Davis was wanted for felony possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and assault with bodily harm.  The bulletin concluded with information that the firearms had not been located in the homicide investigation, and Davis should be considered armed and dangerous.

Once officers activated their emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, a brief pursuit ensued.  The vehicle Davis was driving crashed just west of Monroe on Sinto.  Just after the crash, officers reported shots were fired.  Medical aid was rendered immediately and Davis was transported to an area hospital.
