The Spokane Police Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT), following up on investigative information they developed, arrested Robert W. Thompson (29). He was initially charged with one count of 2nd Degree Possession of Stolen Property, but yesterday the following charges were added: three counts of 2nd Degree Possession of Stolen Property, one count 1st Degree Trafficking in Stolen Property, and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. In the course of their investigation, the PACT team recovered a number of bicycles, bicycle parts, and other items believed to be stolen. We’re asking for the public’s help to get them returned to their rightful owners.
On Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, just before 4:00pm, members of the PACT team stopped Thompson and Rolland Ciais (30) in the area of Belt and Francis. Ciais had a felony Department of Corrections warrant and was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle they were in was loaded with bicycles in various stages of disrepair. The PACT team went to Thompson’s home in the 9300 block of north Farmdale and discovered more bicycles and parts as well as other items.
On Wednesday, March 2, 2016, PACT officers responded back to the Farmdale address to continue their investigation. They were able to find more stolen property and added new charges onto the one Thompson had already been booked for.
We have placed an album on our Facebook page with pictures of the items seized in the hopes we can return the property to the rightful owners. Please contact Ofc. Kennedy at 509-370-1583 if you believe the property picture may be yours. https://www.facebook.com/SpokanePD/
We also encourage you to register your bicycle if you haven’t already. Registering your bike helps us get it back to you if it gets stolen. There are two ways to register your bike; on-line at https://my.spokanecity.org/account/registrations/bicycle/ or at your local C.O.P.S. Shop.
