Spokane Police Department Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT) arrests long time criminal, 45 year-old William H. Lister, for numerous felonies.

On May 8th, 2018, Spokane Police PACT began a burglary investigation on William H. Lister. Information was received Lister was committing burglaries in Spokane County and using the stolen property to support his drug habit. Lister was casing areas to look for residents that left for work early in the morning.
PACT officers along with the SPD Crime Analysis Unit were able to put Lister in the area of a few burglaries.
Probable cause was established to charge Lister with a burglary that occurred in the area of 2300 W. Clarke Avenue. Lister had unlawfully entered the garage and the residence and stole over $3,000 worth of tools the homeowner used to make a living.
PACT determined Lister took the stolen property to an apartment at 12700 E. Main Avenue in the Spokane Valley. PACT Officer Brooks applied for and was granted a search warrant on the Main Avenue apartment.
SWAT and a K9 Unit were requested to assist in serving the warrant at the location based on Lister’s extensive criminal history.
Lister has 16 felony convictions to include Manslaughter 2nd degree, Deliver Firearms, Attempt to Elude, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Mischief-Deadly Weapon. Lister also has 6 gross misdemeanor convictions.
As officers began to approach the apartment, Lister noticed the police presence and fled on foot. An SPD K9 was able to apprehend Lister.
SPD PACT served the search warrant at the apartment and recovered the property stolen from the Clarke Avenue burglary, along with a rifle and other property believed to be stolen. Lister is not able to legally possess a firearm due to his felony convictions.
