State Route 291 Emphasis Tomorrow

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) motorcycle detachment in Spokane will be conducting an emphasis patrol September 15, 2016 on SR 291, in the Nine Mile Falls and Suncrest Communities.  Motorists should expect to see motor officers in the area throughout the day.  Drivers should pay particular attention to their speed, make sure to wear their seat belts and not utilize their electronic devices while driving.

Troopers will also be enforcing pedestrian crossing laws especially in the Suncrest communities where last month the Washington State Department of Transportation finished construction of an enhanced pedestrian crossing on SR 291 at Swenson Road.  Please keep a sharp lookout for pedestrians utilizing crosswalks to avoid potentially serious crashes from occurring.

“WSP motor officers are utilized throughout the district to provide high intensity traffic law enforcement in an effort to prevent serious injury and fatal collisions that are so devastating to our local communities,” said WSP District 4 Commander Captain Jeff Otis.
