Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary in progress call in the 11400 block of East Krueger Lane in Spokane County. Deputies responded quickly and located 23-year-old Ethan L. Burrow and arrested him for 5 felony charges.
This incident started on July 30th, 2014 at approximately 6 p.m. when the victims returned to their home to find it had been burglarized. The victims told deputies while his wife called 911; he noticed a male, later identified as Burrow, standing outside next to his vehicle. When the victim called out to Burrow, Burrow pointed a gun at him. The victim ducked behind a vehicle and then started to run back to the house when he heard a gunshot. He noticed Burrow running away carrying a backpack, a pillow case and a rifle. When the victim checked his residence, he found several items missing including cash, checks, a .22 rifle and other items of value.
While setting up a perimeter, Deputy Pfeifer observed a male matching Burrow’s description walking out of the woods. Deputy Pfeifer took Burrow into custody and advised him of his rights. Burrow told Deputy Pfeifer his partner was the one who shot at the victim and that they split up and took off running.
Several deputies including K9 units, Air 1 and members of the SWAT team arrived to assist in the search for the possible second suspect. With information learned during the investigation as well as no evidence of a second suspect being found during the search, deputies called off the search believing Burrow acted alone.
The victim identified Burrow as the person he observed at his residence and as the person who fired the weapon at him.
Burrow was transported to the jail and booked for felony charges of Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Theft of a Firearm and 2 counts of Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Burrow also has an active felony warrant out of Idaho.
Thankfully no one was injured during this extremely dangerous incident.
