Multiple time convicted felon arrested for assault 2nd degree (felony), assault 4th degree (DV), malicious mischief 3rd degree and obstruction of justice.
Today at 5:50 pm, Spokane Police responded to the area near N Holliston Rd and N West Point Rd for the report of a domestic violence incident where the suspect used a weapon. Officers quickly arrived on scene and located two victims. The suspect, identified by the victims as Adam L Frantz (32) had fled from the scene toward Pettet Drive. The female victim, a former girlfriend of Frantz’s, had been punched in the head by Frantz. The male victim confronted Frantz who then struck the victim in the head with an object.
An astute SPD Lieutenant located Frantz riding a bike nearby on Pettet/Doomsday Hill. Frantz fled on foot and ran into the river to attempt escape. Multiple officers, to include K9, responded to set up a perimeter to contain Frantz. Once Frantz was surrounded, he promptly surrendered and was taken into custody without incident (see photo below).
The victims were treated by paramedics on scene for non-life threatening injuries.
Frantz, a ten time convicted felon, was booked into the Spokane County Regional Jail on charges of assault 2nd degree (felony), assault 4th degree (domestic violence related), mischief 3rd degree and obstruction of justice.

SPD also thanks the river enthusiasts whose tubing adventure was interrupted by the presence of the suspect in the river. Their cooperation was greatly appreciated.
Weapons involved in domestic violence incidents are particularly dangerous. SPD officers always respond with appropriate tactics with the intent to safely take offenders into custody. The goal is to keep everyone safe…victims, bystanders, offenders and officers…everyone.
