Update: Spokane Police are investigating vehicle vs motorcycle crash on N. Nevada St. at E. Broad Ave.
Today June 14, 2017, just before 7:00PM, Spokane Police and the Spokane Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle vs motorcycle crash on N. Nevada St. at E. Broad Ave. Upon the arrival of the Spokane Fire Department personnel, they located the two riders from the motorcycle who were pinned underneath the SUV which had struck them. Spokane Fire Department personnel were able to use an air bag system to lift the SUV from the male and female riders. Both of the riders from the motorcycle were wearing helmets. The male and female were transported to a local hospital where they were being treated for their life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation. The roadway will remain closed in the area while the crash investigators complete their investigation.
With the warmer clear weather, the Spokane Police Department would like to remind all drivers to watch for pedestrians near or in the roadway, motorcycles, and bicyclists. The improved driving conditions will increase traffic congestion in the area, and driver’s need to be aware of the increased traffic on our roadways. Remember to maintain the speed limits, and just because the weather’s better does not mean it’s safe to increase your speeds.
