INCIDENT NARRATIVE: Zhou was southbound on US95 at milepost 483.1 when she attempted to pass a southbound semi truck. Bowlby was northbound and swerved to avoid being stuck by Zhou. Zhou continued southbound in the northbound lane and struck Lippert head on. The dump truck Lippert was driving then slide into Bowlby. The vehicles came to rest on the east shoulder of the road. The male and female passenger in Zhou’s vehicle were transported by Life Flight to Kootenai Health where the female was pronounced deceased. The male was then transferred to Sacred Heart where he was later pronounced deceased. Zhou was transported to Bonner General and later to Kootenai Health. The road way was completely blocked for approximately 2 hours until one lane was opened for alternating traffic. Investigation is ongoing.”
