Spokane Police Patrol officers took homicide suspect Darrell T. Tucker (30) into custody this morning without incident form a residence in the 700 block of west 13th. Tucker’s arrest stems from the homicide in the 500 block of east Crown on January 24th.
This morning, January 30, 2017, just after 1:00am, a Spokane Police Patrol officer spotted a Subaru Legacy Major Crimes Detectives were looking for in relation to the homicide on Crown. That vehicle was towed as evidence and following investigative leads, Major Crimes advised patrol officers there was probable cause to arrest Tucker for the homicide.
Just before 4:30am, another patrol officer spotted a BMW believed to be driven by Tucker at a residence in the 700 block of west 13th. The residence belongs to a relative of Tucker’s so officers surrounded the home and started to make announcements for him to come out. He was taken into custody without incident just after 6:00am this morning and was later booked into Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Murder.
Detectives will be processing both vehicles and the residence for evidence of the homicide and are still asking anyone with information about the incident that hasn’t come forward to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
Tucker has several previous felony convictions. The Spokane Police Department is committed to holding criminals accountable for their actions, especially for serious crimes like this.
