Kenneth S. Williams arrested after Stranger to Stranger Rape at knife-point

“Spokane Police Detectives investigate a report of a rape at knife-point. The suspect, 29-year-old Kenneth S. Williams was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Rape and 1st Degree Burglary. The investigation is on-going, however detectives do not believe the victim and suspect know one another.

Last night, at approximately 10:00 pm, Spokane Police received a report of a rape in the 1000 block of E. Crown. Spokane Police officers responded to the scene less than one minute after the initial call and contacted the victim.

The victim indicated a male, whom she did not know and who was later identified as Kenneth Williams, approached her residence and spoke to her through an open door. He left and came back to her residence approximately 10-15 minutes later. At this point, the victim said Williams forced his way into her residence and raped her, while threatening her with a large knife. Williams then fled the location.

When officers responded to the scene, they immediately assisted the victim, set up a perimeter and attempted a K-9 track to locate the suspect. Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and officers and detectives quickly identified a person of interest, Kenneth Williams.

As officers and detectives processed the scene and they noticed a man who appeared to be watching the police activity. When officers and detectives attempted to contact the man, he fled. After a one-block foot pursuit, officers and detectives arrested the suspect, Kenneth Williams. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Rape and 1st Degree Burglary. He will appear in court today at 1:30 pm.
