SPD Request Help Identifying Female who jumped in the River

Spokane Police request public assistance identifying victim. 

On Monday, March 20, 2017 an unidentified female jumped into the Spokane river.  Her body was recovered a distance away.  Spokane Police would like your help identifying this female.  She is a white female, 50-60 years old, 5-00” tall, 180 lbs, with short brown hair.  She had no tattoos and was wearing dentures.  She was wearing the pictured ring on her right ring finger.  If you have any information on the identity of this female please contact crime check at (509)456-2233.  Reference report # 2017-20049972.

Spokane Police are investigating the death of a person who went off the Canada Island footbridge into the falls of the Spokane River. 

Today, March 20, just after 4:20PM, Spokane Police responded to the report of a person going into the water of the Spokane Falls from the footbridge of Canada Island in Riverfront Park.  Spokane Police and the Spokane Fire Department responded to the area to conduct a rescue investigation.  Spokane Fire Department boats and divers were utilized for the rescue efforts along with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Helicopters.

A body was later located downstream in the river.

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives are continuing the investigation, and they are being assisted by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team.  The cause for the person leaving the foot bridge is still under investigation.

Spokane Police ask any witnesses, who have not already been contacted, to call Crime Check at (509)456-2233.

The identity of the deceased and the cause of death will be released by the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office.
