The Spokane Police Department arrest three suspects after a robbery at E Sprague Motel.
Â
Early this morning, 2/17/18, at approximately 2:15 AM, an SPD patrol officer located a barefoot female running in the 1300 block of E Sprague Ave. She appeared to be in distress so the officer stopped to render assistance and was told of a robbery that just occurred. The victim stated three males forced their way into her room. One of the suspects had a firearm and pointed it at the victim and her boyfriend. The other two suspects were armed with a Taser type device and pepper spray. The suspects left the room after searching it and taking some items. The victim immediately fled and was able to locate the officer.
The officer immediately requested more units. A perimeter was established and a K9 unit arrived to track the suspects. All three suspects were located a short distance away hiding under a deck. The suspects were taken into custody without injury to them or officers.
Benjamin M Bass (21), was booked into Spokane County Jail for Robbery 1st Degree, unlawful possession of a firearm and on an outstanding burglary warrant. Nakoa M Walker-Kellum (25) and Kenneth A Brower (31) were both booked into Spokane County Jail for Robbery 1stDegree. Bass and Brower both have prior felony convictions. The weapons used in the robbery were all recovered.

This is a prime example of how SPD officers are constantly vigilant to locate those in need of help. Crimes of violence are of constant concern to the Spokane Police Department and its officers. If you are the victim of a crime and need immediate help, call 911 or CrimeCheck at 509-456-2233 for non-emergency needs. Always remember to keep yourself safe and be vigilant for crime.
